How long?

It is up to you how long you take to learn Welsh, but it pays to be realistic and honest! Although the rewards are great, learning any language takes a lot of time and commitment and a great deal of hard work.

As a new learner, you can expect to become fluent in 2-4 years if you follow the more intensive routes, or less than 10 years with fractional courses.

You can choose whatever type of course best suits you:

Very Intensive

More than 5 hours of learning per week – the quickest way to become fluent.

Intensive

More than 3 hours of learning per week – a well proven method of learning Welsh quickly and efficiently.

Fractional

Less than 3 hours of learning per week – a more leisurely method of learning, suitable for those with busier lifestyles.
